Put the people first before your ambitions – High Chief Isiwele cautions Edo governorship aspirants

High Chief Musa Shehu Isiwele, The Aigbojie of Uromi Kingdom and the National President of Road Transport Employers Association has appealed to the contestants in the forth coming Edo State governorship election to put the interest and safety of the electorates first in all they do.

In his Sallah message exclusively obtained by LeadingReporters, the National President of Road Transport Employers Association (RTEAN) wishes the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Vice President, the President of the Nigeria Senate, the Speaker of the House, the State Governors and members and leaders of RTEAN across the 36 States of the Federation, those saddled with different leadership positions in Nigeria and all Nigerians a happy Sallah celebration.

High Chief Isiwele used the opportunity to warn motorists and members of the association to observe all safety rules and signs during this period to ensure safety of lives of passengers during the Sallah period.

“Life is a gift from God we should jealously guard.  Let safety always be our watchword.  For some of us saddled with leadership positions, until we have brought smiles on the faces of most of those who look to us, we’re not qualified to be called leaders.  As good Nigerians, we should always uphold those virtues that promote social cohesion, love, patriotism and tolerance.  Where we have reasons to disagree, we should not rule out the chance to agree as well”

The RTEAN President further warned the contestants of the Edo governorship election to put the interest and safety of the electorates first during and after the forth-coming Edo State governorship election, as according to Chief Isiwele

“If truly the positions we seek is to better the lots of the citizenry, we should avoid anything that will hurt them in our words, our actions and deeds.  Ambitions are good, but ambitions rooted in safety of other lives are better.  To this extent, I want to appeal to my brothers who are contesting in the forth coming election to regard the safety and lives of the electorates and do only what will promote social cohesion, safety of lives and property and in extension what will bring glory and honour to our dear State.  Whoever that wins should not see his victory as the be-all and end-all.  He should see it as a service to humanity and God.  Whoever that loses should accept his fate and resort to legal means of seeking redress rather than stirring rancor or fatal agitations”

High Chief Isiwele appealed to Nigerians irrespective of their party affiliations to support governments at all levels towards bettering the lots of Nigeria
